Tim Carman Trio’s newest single “Rosalie” is reminiscent of 60s soul jazz recordings with a Caribbean twist. Written by Tim Carman (drums) and Ken Clark (organ), the track’s down-to-earth pop harmony and tambourine-fueled groove create a danceable vibe not always present in more angular sounding jazz. Inspired by artists like Lee Morgan, George Braith and Big John Patton—Carman, Clark, and Fell (guitar) remind listeners that, yes, you can cut loose to jazz.
