about

On June 25th, 2022, Tim Carman Trio took the stage for two sets at Atwoods Tavern in Cambridge, MA, just outside of Boston, for what Tim Carman describes as "the rowdiest jazz show I've ever played." Supporting their first LP, Key Lime, the show featured many tunes that would end up on their sophomore LP, "King Comfy," as the Trio was fresh off the recording session. Now, as a digital exclusive, Tim Carman Trio brings you a select album capturing that hot, sweaty summer night of people drinking and dancing with "Live in Cambridge," highlighting five songs, including a cover of Big John Patton's Spiffy Diffy featuring Pat Faherty, from GA20, on guitar. Atwoods is an intimate venue and staple in the Boston music scene that sadly closed this past year. The Trio was fortunate to capture and record what would be their last time playing at the venue with lots of friends, family, and laughter. It was a party. You can feel the love and energy on these live takes that truly capture the heart and soul of Tim Carman Trio.

about

Tim Carman Trio Boston, Massachusetts

The Tim Carman Trio, formed in 2020 by Boston based drummer Tim Carman, is no-frills, timeless, B3 organ trio jazz. Inspired by 60s icons like Big John Patton, Jimmy Smith, Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, and Grant Green—Carman (drums), Clark (organ), and Fell (guitar) harken back to an age of honest, unpolished, musical interaction. ... more
